He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Pender Newton; his wife Nancy; his children, Beverly Newton Thompson (Michael) and Joseph "Jody" Newton, II (Tonya); his grandchildren, Britney T. Harrington (Matthew), Aaron Jolly and Donnie M. Thompson; his great grandchildren, Baxlee and Jagger; his siblings, Ronald "Ronnie" Samuel Newton (Rhonda) and Sara Nell Newton Thompson; and his sisters-in-law, Bobbie Newton and Evelyne Newton.
