He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethleen Darby Funny and John Funny; his son Willie Lee Funnie; and his siblings, Thomas Funnye, William Funnye, Mary Funnie, Frasier Funnie-Grate and Lillie Mae Funnie-Grate.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Grant Funnie; his children, Janice M. Funnie, Kenneth Funnie of Georgetown, SC, John Funnie, Jr. of Georgetown, SC, Perry Funnie (Tovontra) of Georgetown, SC, Likeya of Georgetown, Rico of Georgetown, Lavonie Funnie of Georgetown and Jacolby Sanders of Georgetown; his sisters, Shirley F. Wilson (Thomas), RosaLee F. Woodward of Georgetown, SC and Betty F. Dowdy (Jesse) of Hartford, CT; and his siblings-in-law, Emma Jean Funnye of Conway, SC, Mary Nell Grant, Reatha Grant of Georgetown, SC, Cathleen G. Simmons (Joe) of Hartford, CT, Sarah Waters of Hartford, CT, Lula Grant of Columbus, GA, Samuel Grant of Hartford, CT and Manny Grant of Georgetown. He is also survived by nieces reared as daughters in the home, Stephanie Grant of Hartford Connecticut and Judith Grant of Georgetown, SC; twenty-two grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
