He was predeceased by: his parents, Joshua Player and Bertha Mae Swails Player; and his siblings, Frances W. Player Lambert and James Madison Player. He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann Flegel Player; his children, Melissa Elliott (Henry) of Andrews, Pamela Morris (Brian) of Andrews, Tammy Player of Andrews and Leslie Johnson (Woody) of Andrews; his grandchildren, Tiffany Benford (Dru), Brooke McCall (Jonathan), Josh Player (Destene), Dusty Roberts, Ashley Evans, Maggie Beth Morris, Henry Elliott, III, Macey Ritch, Adilyn Morris, Payton Ritch, Anna Kate Johnson and Gib Johnson; his great grandchildren, Camdyn Benford, Callen Benford, Landon Player and Ivy June McCall; his stepgranddaughter Caitlin Lavoie (Bryon); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Cayden Davis and John Ray Weston; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Flegel (Anne) of Florida and Michael Flegel, Sr. (Brenda) of Florence. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Andrews Church of God (310 N Morgan Ave, Andrews, SC 29510). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Antioch Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
