He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Jennifer Kathleen Nesbitt (Bryant), Donald Edward "Eddie" McDonald, III, Christen Nichole McDonald (Coyt Duke) and Christopher Roland McDonald; his grandchildren, Jonah McDonald, Kaitlyn McDonald, Ashlynn Nesbitt, Asher Nesbitt, Rivers McDonald, Jude Nesbitt and Graham Nesbitt; his stepfather Al Seno; and his sisters, Teresa Wheat and Janine Brown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
