He was predeceased by: his parents, Branson Dalheart Moorefield and Mildred Earline Steward Moorefield. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Elliott Moorefield; his daughters, Michelle Woods (Bryan) and Alicia Thompson (Tim); his stepchildren, David Todd (Lisa), Karen Holar (Ralph) and Christopher Todd; his granddaughters, Megan and Brianna; and his siblings, Mark Moorefield, Shirley Davis and Janice Pope. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.
