She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Ray Mitchem; her parents, Charlie Rufus Creel and Sarah Mildred Thompson Creel; and her siblings, Garland "Buster" Creel, Elton Creel, Alfred Creel, Henry Creel, Mary Johnson and Thelma Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Abbott (Sherrelle) of Andrews, Lyn Barber (Mandy) of Andrews, Jennifer Barber of Spartanburg and Austin Mitchem (Taylor) of Andrews; and her siblings, Francis Creel (Edith) of Spartanburg and Linda Cook of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
