He is survived by: his sons, Chuck Irwin (Melissa) of Sylva, NC and John Irwin (Brittany) of Franklin, NC; his grandchildren, Summer Irwin of Sylva, NC, Savannah Irwin of Sylva, NC, Penny Laine Irwin of Franklin, NC, Maggie Mae Irwin of Franklin, NC, Arthur Michael Irwin of Franklin, NC, Hunter Irwin of Franklin, NC and Hailey Jo Stanley of Franklin, NC; and his siblings, Patricia Ward (Leroy) of Georgetown, Barbara Latham of Odenville, Teresa Davis Andrews (David), Kerry Terry (Jan) of Conway, Ron Terry (Karen) of Galivants Ferry and Dallas Gailey (Brenda) of Jamestown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
