She was predeceased by: her parents, Glennie Newton and Mary Green Newton; her daughters, Betty "Betsy" P. Cox, Laurie P. McDaniel and Leatha P. Lambert; her siblings, Frances Marlowe, Mary Faye Turner, Shirley Spencer, Donald Newton, Lamont Newton, David Earl Newton, Elvis Newton and Ronald Elliott; and her son-in-law Keith McDaniel, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, James "Champ" Allen Survay Powell, Jr. (Jennifer), Lilla P. Long (Bruce Godwin) and Mary P Rowe (Big John); and her brother Marvin Newton. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and thirty-four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Family Home (65 Nettles Ln, Andrews, SC 29510).
