He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Ayers and Mamie Ayers; his wife Mildred Ayers; his sons, Casey Odell, Willis Edgar and Vandiver Samuel Ayers; his siblings, Hester V. Ayers, Bill Ayers, Johnny Odell Ayers, LaVern Ayers, Louise Woosley, Gladys Auten, Geraldine Britt and Helen Bleckley; and his grandchildren, Casey Ayers and Ritchie Ayers.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Faye; his siblings, Henry Joe Ayers, Jacky Ayers and Ann McAlister; and his grandchildren, Christopher Ayers (Beth), Ronnie Ayers, Jason Ayers (Jennifer), Jonathan Ayers (Tanya), Rachel Ayers, Becky Murphy (James) and Shelby Harvey (Michael). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
