“Dean was a dear friend of many years. Lewis and I became acquainted with him through the Anderson County Republican Party. I loved hearing his stories of all the things he had done and all the places he had gone. He was a walking history book. I wish he had lived to write the book that he and I discussed that he would one day write. He had a great sense of humor and dearly loved setting some folks off with his antics. They never understood that he was playing them. Dance with the angels, Dean❤️”

“I wasn’t always on the same side with Dean Allen, but when I was, he was loyal and dedicated. Even we were on different sides, Dean always treated me with respect and kindness. Dean made any event or meeting more interesting and more fun. When I think of him, the images that come to mind, are of him standing just inside the door of some meeting, wearing a seersucker suit, a big smile on his face, and giving me that uniquely Dean Allen handshake. Dean Allen was one of a kind and I will miss him.”
