He was predeceased by: his parent John Guy; and his sisters, Ruth Gerrard Morgan, Jeanette Phillips and Wanda Speares. He is survived by: his parent Lila Teasley Strickland; his wife Ruth A. Strickland; his son Jon Strickland (Wendy) of Anderson; his grandchildren, Wesley Strickland and Caroline Strickland; and his brother Sheldon Strickland (Lillian) of Vienna, VA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 304 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
