He was predeceased by: his parent-in-law J. B. Poole, Jr.; his parents, Sylvester Reed and Carrie L. Reed; his grandson Avery Reed Miller; his brother Harry; his sister-in-law Carolyn Reed; his mother-in-law Ethel Poole, Sr.; and his brothers-in-law, Leroy Durham and Bennie Poole.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Poole Reed; his daughters, Stephanie Reed Joseph and Stacey Steward (Terrance); his grandsons, Bryce Sylvester Miller, Terrance L. Steward II, Kendall M. Joseph, Braylon A. Miller and Karlie B. Latimore; his sisters, Dorothy R. Hall, Mary L. (Jesse Oliver, Sr.), Brenda G. Reed and Velories Reed; and his parents-in-law, Ethel M. Rainey, Mary L. Mattress and Charles R. Poole. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, three aunts and cousins.
