She is survived by: her children, Dakota Saunders, Gervais Simmons and Carlos Lyles; and her siblings, Velvia Biggs (Christopher), Melleane Conyers (James), Vicky Simmons, Rev. Robert Simmons, Jr., Joe Simmons (Wanda) and Samuel Simmons (Jannie). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
