She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Tollison and Nancy Tollison; her husband James Lyons; and her siblings, Marvin Lee Tollison, Alethea Williams and Danny Tollison.

She is survived by: her children, April Mason (Worth), Joseph Whitten (Dana), Mary Anna Cater (Brett) and Jaime Wilson (Nick); her siblings, Andrew Tollison, Annette Tollison and Mark Tollison; her grandchildren, Lauren Betancur (Andres), Jacob Whitten, Drew Whitten, Avery Wilson and Tucker Wilson; and her great grandchild Camila Betancur.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Miriam's name to the Calvary Home for Children or the Rainey Hospice House.
