He was predeceased by: his parents, William Malcolm "Will" and Mary Elrod McLeese; his brother Larry McLees; his stepson Brad Crain; and his grandson Ryan Crain.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Snipes McLeese; his children, Melissa McLeese Robertson (Scott), Danny McLeese and Stanley McLeese; his stepchildren, Beverly Murphy, Stephen Crain, Mark Crain and Rev. Troy Crain; his brother Billy McLeese (Gwen); and his sister-in-law Linda McLees. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
