She was predeceased by: her parents, E. L. McGowan and Hattie Beulah Oglesby McGowan; her husband Earlia Donaldson; her sons, Christopher Darryl Donaldson and Earl Anthony Donaldson; and her sister Annie Kate Washington.
She is survived by: her children, Valarie Earleen Donaldson, Tonia Arlene Sloan of Anderson, SC, Rev. Emmanuel Donaldson (Monica) of Antreville, SC and Andra Marcel Donaldson of Anderson, SC; her grandfather Emmanuel Donaldson, Jr.; and her siblings, James Edward McGowan, Mary Ann Hatten of Anderson, SC, Addie Brownlee, Sheila Terry (Gerald) and Melissa Martin of Antreville, SC. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home, Inc. (1212 S Main St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Flat Rock A. M. E. Church (1136 Flat Rock Rd, Abbeville, SC 29620). A burial was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at the same location.
