He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Butler and Evelyn Stoner Butler; his daughter Cathy Butler; and his sisters, Mae Jordan, Sue Hornick and Joyce Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn McKee Butler; his children, Steve Butler of Santa Barbara, CA, Lisa Butler Curtin (Tim) of Ireland, Greg Butler of Belton, Michelle Eskew (Mark) and Amanda Couch of Anderson; his grandchildren, John Butler, Nicholas Butler, Anna Grace Butler, Elizabeth Butler, Maria Butler of Santa Barbara, CA, Katie Curtin of Wellington, FL, Patrick Curtin of New York, Sara Harrison (Joseph) of Belton, Jaime Couch of Anderson, Whitney Eskew of Anderson, Marcus Eskew of Anderson, Ariana Wallen of Anderson and Ireland Eskew of Anderson; and his great grandchild Jack Harrison of Belton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pleasant View Baptist Church (2308 N Main St, Anderson, SC 29621). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery (328 Beaverdam Church Rd, Fair Play, SC 29643).
