He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Griffin and Annie Lee Griffin; his son Jeffrey Griffin; and his great grandchild Addie Grace Bolt. He is survived by: his wife Jane Jones Griffin; his children, Tammy Maddox (Barry) and Bruce Griffin (Liz); his siblings, Doug Griffin (Retha) and Sandra Vickery (Russell); his grandchildren, Amanda Bolt (Kellie), Jonathan Bolt (Stephanie), Laura Hammond (Ben), Ben Maddox, David Maddox (Casey), Ellen Griffin (Madison), Kate Giovengo (Michael), Ashley Campbell (Scott), Brandon Koenig and Justin Koenig; and his great grandchildren, Andy, Mateo, Reeves, Sophie, Lucy, Lilia, Barrett and Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to Middleton Road Baptist Church or to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St, Anderson, SC.
