He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe E. Hames, Sr. and Clara Jones Hames; his son Joe E. Hames, III; and his sister Helen Farrow. He is survived by: his son Richard "Dick" Hames (Debbie); his daughter-in-law Thelma Hames; his girlfriend Priscilla Granlee; his grandchildren, Brian Hames, Jeremy King, Derek Hames, Veronica Hames and Michelle King; and his great grandchildren, Holden, Winston, Teller, Evie Hames, Luke, Eric Kent and Addison King.
