James Hurt Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Hurt of Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Hurt to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his mother Emma T. Hurt; his wife Marlene W. Hurt; and his sister Marlene H. Thomason. He is survived by: his son Barron Hurt; his sisters, Lorriane Strickland and Peggy Eaves (Ed); his half-sister Serena Whitmire; his brother Lee Hurt (Mary); his sisters-in-law, Joyce Jennings and Kathy Craft; his niece Crystal; and his nephew Ray Whitaker. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory (3219 S Main St, Anderson, SC 29624).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, Rainey Hospice House (https://secure.acceptiva.com) and Palliative Care or Bible Baptist Church.
