With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Henry Johnson (Anderson, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 3, 2024 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Memphis Johnson, Sr. and Maggie Greenlee Johnson of Pendleton, SC.; and his siblings, Estella Evans, Curtis Johnson, Chris Johnson, Harold Johnson and Larry Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Johnson; his children, Oisha Morris of Summerville, SC, Shoma Smith (Jerrod) of Jacksonville, NC, Shanika Weston (Glenn) of Duncan, SC, James Johnson Jr. (JJ) of Anderson, SC and Kevin Johnson; and his siblings, Memphis Johnson Jr. (Doris) of Pendleton, SC, J. D. Johnson of Columbia, SC, Ada Ann Osbey, Nellie Blanding, Mary Hagood (William D.) of Pendleton, SC, Jannie Bolden and Frances Lindsey (Donald) of Anderson, SC. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Unity Mortuary of Anderson (401 S Fant St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church (6300 SC-187, Anderson, SC 29625).
