With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Burriss of Anderson, South Carolina, born in Belton, South Carolina, who passed away on September 1, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Allen and Julia Mae Boggs Burriss; and his siblings, Billy, Boyce, Bob, Allen Burriss, Shelby Burriss and Doris Harnesberger.

He is survived by: his wife Doris T. Burriss; his son James Ernest "Jim" Burriss, Jr. (Sarah); his granddaughter Brantli Burriss; his great grandchildren, Addysen Jordan, Tollison Burriss and Lenox Burriss; and his sisters, Joyce Parnell and Cathy Witcher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orrville Baptist Church, 2620 South Main Street, Anderson, SC 29624, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
