He was predeceased by: his parents, George Boardman Edwards, Jr. and Betty Edwards Hope; and his son George Boardman Edwards IV. He is survived by: his wife Mary Acker Edwards; his children, Frederick "Rick" Boardman Edwards (Frances) of Anderson and Betty "Betsy" Edwards Foster (Don) of Simpsonville; his grandchildren, Morgan DeBrew (Chris) of Anderson, Haley Brinson (Cal) of Anderson, Stephanie Klopp (Aaron) of Charlotte and Grant Foster (Hillary) of Greer; and his sisters, Sisti Harrell of Texas and Nez Walker of Tennessee. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 307 South Manning Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
