He is survived by: his significant other Caroline; his son Eric (Tiffany); his granddaughter Arina Speer; his brother Jimmy (Mary Speer); his niece Marni; and his nephew Matthew (April). He is also survived by many friends, neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Congaree National Park, South Carolina State Museum, and the Humane Society of South Carolina (Columbia).
