She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Clyde and Rosa Haithcock Shaw; and her husband Leander "Lee" Bateman. She is survived by: her son Stephen; her daughter-in-law Robyn Bateman; her grandchildren, Brian Bateman (Elizabeth) and Whitney Bateman Griffin (Michael); and her great grandchildren, Palmer Griffin and Anna Shaw Bateman.

Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church 275 Airport Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.
