She was predeceased by: her grandmother Peacer; her parents, James David (JD) and Lelia Robinson Byrd; her husband James "Bubba" West; her siblings, Margaret Byrd Jones, Hattie Byrd Owens, Robinson, George Byrd and James Byrd; and her son-in-law Kenneth Todd.

She is survived by: her aunt Lois; her children, Rhona Hendrix Sims (Bobby), Wanda Joyce Pendergrass, Hattie Lolelia Todd (Bobby Nash) and Rodney Ansell Hendrix (Jewel); her stepdaughter Crystal McKinney; her brother John Willie Byrd (Meta); her sister-in-law Sarah Byrd; her grandchildren, Rhonita Leah Milam (O'Neil), Melissa Kellie Bowling, Bobbie Celeste Chapman (Jemiel), Joseph Levar Sims (Cristina), Courtney Olivia Singfield (Bryant), Chelsea Toynelle Hendrix, Jesla Danielle Hendrix, Kira Lynette Pendergrass, Jasmine Fredricka Pendergrass, Ezekial Trevon Pendergrass, Haley Charnette Pendergrass, Kendall Genice Todd, Kendrick Ansell Todd, Terra McKinney and Reginald McKinney; and her great grandchildren, Chavez Omarion Milam, Gabriella Zoe Bowling, Emmalise Naomi Bowling, Kelsie Marie Bowling, Desmond Jemiel Chapman, Simyia Elise Chapman, Reina Josephine Sims, Nova Joelle Sims, Arabella Chai Singfield, Lyric Kiara Hendrix, Imani Brielle Hester, Akiera Joyciana Pendergrass, Benji Sincere Sherman, Mariah Charmaine Pendergrass and Novaleigh Sage Young. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Unity Mortuary of Anderson (401 S Fant St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the New Mount Pisgah Baptist Church (8023 Old Greenville Hwy, Easley, SC 29642).
