He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira McMinn and Lessie Thomason McMinn; his son Phillip McMinn; and his daughter-in-law Stephanie McMinn. He is survived by: his wife Willene Barnett McMinn; his sons, Douglas McMinn (Kim) and Thomas McMinn; his daughter-in-law Phyllis McMinn; his grandchildren, Mark, Micah, Matthew, Mary Ann, Molly, Brent and Sam; and his great grandchildren, Stella, Esther, Max, Judah and Ada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International or The Phillip McMinn Scholarship for students of Baptist Pastors going into full time service and attending North Greenville University or Anderson University.
