He was predeceased by: his wife Helen F. Johnson; his parents, Roberta Walker and Zeddie Johnson; and his siblings, Joseph Cephus Johnson, Margie Paschal, Josephine Gilliard, Izonia Mae Mark, Mae Frances Hunter, Rosella Scotland, Sara Johnson and Roosevelt Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Brenda Johnson, David Stanley Johnson (Brandi), Deborah Maddix (Raymond) and Jaquyae Taluntez Jones; and his sisters, Genobia Hardy and Dora Whitner. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
