He was predeceased by: his parent Bertha Kay Sims; his children, Margaret Alexander, Bobby Heard, Sharon Hall and Janet Heard; and his siblings, Ester Lean Crosby, Theodore Kay, Frank Sims, Horace Sims, Nathaniel Sims and J. T. Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Daisy Beaty Kay; and his children, Patricia Alexander, Gwendolyn Davis, Catherine Kelly, Sandra Robinson-Wiley and Danny Colbert.
