He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Ann Starks Brownlee and James Allen "Pete" Brownlee; his son Bobby Brownlee; his siblings, Betty Jo Beaty, Mattie Hoover, James Brownlee and Ernest Brownlee; and his aunt Rev. Shirley Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Sheila Lomax of Anderson, Michelle Lomax of Anderson and Londas Maurice (Irby); his sister Mary Richarson of Anderson, SC; and his nephew Jimmy Starks. He is also survived by niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.
