With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benjamin Lester Owen Jr. of Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on November 16, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Benjamin Lester Owen and Luna Morris Owen; his former wife Frances Ruth Black Owen; his daughters, Debbie Owen Jordal (Edward A. Jordal) of Wilmington, NC and Cynthia Diane Owen Whitaker (Evans P. Whitaker) of Anderson, SC; his granddaughter Ana Ruth Jordal of Wilmington; and his wife Alice Owen of Chesapeake.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Anderson University, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621 directed to the Benjamin L. Owen, Jr. Fund.
