He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Barnette and Lillian Moore Barnette; his son Kevin Barnette; and his sister Yvonne Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Betty Barnette; his daughter Kara Dutton (Wade); his grandchildren, Seth of Anderson and Samantha Dutton of Anderson; and his great grandchild Emily of Walhalla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Fire Department, 5503 Hix Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
