He was predeceased by: his parents, Eliza Jane Adams Dennis and Ira Dennis, Sr.; his son Oscar Edward Dennis; and his siblings, Minister Lellia Mae Hanks, Etrulia Russell, Ira Dennis, Jr., Dr. Douglas E. Dennis and Horace Dennis, Sr..

He is survived by: his children, Steve Lee, Anthony Lee (Priscilla) and Dr. Penelope Laws (Henry); and his siblings, Lillian Heard, Dianne Martin, Albert Dennis, Lawrence Dennis (Barbara) and Morris Dennis (Geneva). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
