He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Mitchell and Alice Mitchell; his sister Helen Leonard; and his siblings-in-law, William Gerry, Dr. James Leonard, Kenneth Croke, Sarah Leahy, Barbara Leahy and Kevin Clabby.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; his daughter Grainne (Joe Gray) of Estill; his grandchildren, Liam, Virginia and Miles; his sisters, Elizabeth Gerry and Jane Croke; and his siblings-in-law, Bernard Leahy, Maurice, Theresia Leahy, Michael Leahy, Anne Armitage, Concepta Clabby, Nuncy and Ted Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
