He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Melton Brunson and Lilla Mae Newman Brunson; and his sisters, Bertie Lee Squires and Vivian Daniels. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Jon Brunson of Alcolu, Paula Brunson Bishop (Ben) of Sumter and Kathryn Easton of Saluda, NC; his grandchildren, Capers, Douglas Stoudenmire, Brandon Brunson, Kent, Joel Easton and Ashley Brunson; and his great grandchildren, Kelsey Easton, Annie and Liza Stoudenmire.
