He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Johnson and Viola G. Johnson; and his son Mydron Avedis. He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Johnson; his children, Cedric Kelvin Johnson of Sumter and Lakisha Smith (Robert) of Hampton, GA; and his siblings, Louis Johnson (Alma) of Oklahoma City, OK, Robert Johnson (Mary) of Harvest, AL, Johnnie Johnson (Subrena) of Macon, GA, Jimmie Johnson of Columbus, GA and Viola Johnson of Columbus, GA. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 5613 Longview Road, Sumter.
Before there was a "Meals-on-Wheels" Ministry, Deacon Johnson would donate and distribute meals to those in need on a weekly basis.
