He was predeceased by: his wife Emily F. Barnhill; his parents, Ole Evan and Mattie Richardson Barnhill; his son Michael David Barnhill; and his siblings, Louise Smoak, Irene Richardson, Thelma Jordan, Lora Richardson, Margie Skipper, Alda Jordan, Virginia Jordan, Miriam Barnhill, O. E. Barnhill, Gilbert Barnhill and Carroll Barnhill.
He is survived by: his daughter Hope Paradise (Tommy); his grandchildren, Joshua Hawes, Ariel Hawes, Sean Barnhill, Chris Barnhill, Nicholas Barnhill and Nathanial Barnhill; and his sisters, Charlotte Cherry of Knoxville, TN, Hazel Adams of Colorado City, CO and Lonita Spivey of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
