Ronald Sandlin Obituary

Ronald (Jeri) Sandlin, age 84, of Beech Island, SC, died during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born on July 11, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Franklin Sandlin and Florence Sandlin, née Bloodworth, brother, Peter Cline Sandlin, and son, Scott D. Sandlin. He is survived by his beloved wife, Penny Sandlin née. Theodoropoulos; daughters, Tammie M. Sandlin and Joanna (Nikko) Mylona; sons, George A. (Ruta) Sandlin and G. Frank (lin) Sandlin II; siblings, Carolyn Sherrill and David (Chris) Sandlin, along with five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jeri had suffered several heart issues in the past along with ongoing COPD and most recently, a broken hip which, combined with his other health challenges, proved too much for his body to overcome. Together with his wife Penny, Jeri attended Wildwood Christian Church for several years, finding fellowship and friendship as well as a saving belief in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing games together and enjoying some good fried catfish when he could get it. He was blessed to have both sons near as they were often able to help with work around the home after Jeri was no longer strong enough to do it on his own. Jeri was a hard-working man who was skilled mechanically, especially at working on cars and motorcycles, pretty much anything with an engine. In the 5 years the family spent living in Greece he earned the nickname "MacGyver," for he was able to fix anything. He also loved having pets around as he and Penny enjoyed the company of several dogs, and even a cat. He loved his family and did his best to always be there for them. He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 12:30p, following morning services at Wildwood Christian Church (2627 Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815).
