Melvin Sires Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Sires (Aiken, South Carolina), born in Atlanta, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 2, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Melvin farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Melvin is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin J. Sires, Jr. and Bessie Hartness Sires; and his close friend Kay Shirley. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Sires King (Bob) of Santa Fe; and his sister Patsy Sutton (Jimmy) of Fort Valley, GA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and Butterscotch the cat.
