He is survived by: his true love Mary Ann Roof Thompson; his daughters, Melissa McClain and Marcia Thompson; his son-in-law Allen McClain; his grandchildren, Morgan and Austin Renew; and his brother George Fredrick Thompson.
A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Calendar St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church Cemetery (125 Pendleton St SW, Aiken, SC 29801). Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Calendar Stevenson-McClelland Parrish House (125 Pendleton St SW, Aiken, SC 29801). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church (125 Pendleton St SW, Aiken, SC 29801).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken Mended Hearts, (Chapter 294; P.O. Box 967, Aiken, SC 29802), a support program for patients with cardiovascular disease that Major and Mary Ann volunteered with for many years.
