James Samuel Hatfield Sr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Samuel Hatfield Sr. of Aiken, South Carolina, who passed away on March 6, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel B. Hatfield (Sam) and Mozelle Keel Hatfield of Aiken, SC.; his former wife Mary Poole Hatfield of Sally, SC; his brother-in-law Phillip Moore of Littleton, CO; and his stepdaughter Kim Weber of Columbus, GA..

He is survived by: his wife Gloria W. Hatfield of Columbus, GA; his children, Mary Kay Wilson (Wayne) of Phenix City, AL and James Samuel Hatfield, Jr. (Sammy); his stepdaughters, Kelli Stone of Midland, GA and Tiffany Healy (Jim) of Huntington, NY; his sister Hope H. Moore of Colorado Springs, CO; and his grandchildren, Chase Wilson, McKenzie, Mikayla Hatfield, Madison McManus (Avery), Eliot Turner (Caroline), Charlie Turner, Connor Stone (Kenturah), Collin Stone, Taylor Depratt (Chris), Ryan, Tinsley Healy and James Hartley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Striffler-Hamby (4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lakewood Baptist Church (4011 Lakewood Dr, Phenix City, AL 36867).
