He was predeceased by: his wife Idella Fallaw Bodie; his parents, Eugene Stokes Bodie and Myra Steadman Bodie Kennerly; his son Edwin Bodie; his daughter-in-law Brenda Bodie; and his siblings, John Russell Bodie and Elizabeth "Teany" Bodie Green.
He is survived by: his children, Susanne (Bob Rhoden), John (Frankie Bodie), Beth (Walter Eubanks) and Augusta; and his grandchildren, Russ (Jennifer Bodie), Mary Leslie (John Whitehead), Jason (Hannah Bodie), Jimmy Rhoden, Charles (Kristy Eubanks), Daniel (Lauren Eubanks), Sarah (Jason Pociask), Tricia Eubanks, Michael (Brooks Eubanks), Brad (Ashley Dennis), Courie (Aimee Dennis) and Joseph Dennis.
