She was predeceased by: her husband David M. Burke; and her parents, Robert C. Smalley and Emmie W. Smalley. She is survived by: her children, Maura Johnson (Daniel) of Roswell, GA, Mathes M. Burke, II (Dorothea) of San Diego, CA and James K. Burke of Charlotte, NC.; her grandchildren, Mathes M. Burke, III (Sierra), Andrew M. Burke and Charles Ellis Burke; and her sisters, Patricia Fulmer of Aiken, SC and Emmie Hazle of Anderson, SC..
