He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Morton Rains. He is survived by: his children, Lee Rains (Sharon) and Donna Rains; his granddaughter Tiffany Henderson (Justin); his great grandchildren, Bennett and Emma Henderson; and his sister Louise Herndon.
