He was predeceased by: his parents, Mallie Staples and Rosalie Staples; and his siblings, Arnold Lee Staples, Irene Peckenpaugh, Jimie Staples, Peggy Spencer and Jerry Staples.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Lee Staples (Phelps); his sons, Brian K. Staples (Kelly) of Versailles, KY and William "Ty" Staples (Anastasia) of Danville, KY; his grandchildren, Allie Staples of Dayton, OH, Natalie Staples Dean (Justin) of Gainesville, GA and Nicholas Staples of Danville, KY; and his brother Hugh Staples (Jeanie) of Henderson, KY. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
