He was predeceased by: his brothers, Peter and Michael; and his parents, William Pengilly and Winifred Stone. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Joan Forssmark Pengilly; his daughters, Laura Ashlee (Gordon) of Henderson, NV and Anne Auger (Michael) of Matthews, NC; his granddaughter Christina Nowakowski (John); his great grandchild Livia Nowakowski of Sacramento, CA; his former wife Dr. Sylvia Pengilly; and his siblings-in-law, Allen Forssmark (Sue), Paula Forssmark Werber (Douglas) and Barbara Pengilly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Brian's name to the Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia SC or the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Akron OH.
