She was predeceased by: her husband Wilbert "Sam" N. Samuel; and her parents, Hugo Johnson and Esther Mach Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Patricia "Patsy" A. Callen (Edward) of Aiken, SC, Suzan A. Gualano (Anthony) of Naperville, IL and Willam "Billy" C. Samuel (Margie) of Bentonville, AR; her grandchildren, Lisa M. Veronico (Joey), Hannah E. Samuel, Jonas Edgmon and Lindsay Currie (Mark); and her sister Ruth Gibson of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Betty's name may be directed to Callen Psychology Research Award Fund at UofSC Aiken, South Carolina.
