It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arnold Roy McLain Jr. (Aiken, South Carolina), born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Gail Williams McLain; his parents, Arnold Roy McLain, Sr. and Martha Sue Rawls McLain; his children, Meredith McLain Griffin (Ryan) and David Thornton McLain (Kellie) of Mt Pleasant, SC; and his grandchildren, Sophia Inez McLain, Samuel Thornton McLain, Lucille Davis Griffin and William McLain Griffin.
He also volunteered as President of the Outing Club, President of the Cotillion Club, and longtime treasurer of the Historic Aiken Foundation.
