With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Willie Gray of Abbeville, South Carolina, who passed away on April 17, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Willie had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Willie may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Gray Sr. and Lillie Cunningham Gray; and his wife Mary Bethina Bowie. He is survived by: his children, Vicky Gray, Delphine G. Dawkins, Joseph Gray, Lilly G. Pardlow, Josephine Lynch, Eric Gray and Tyrone Gray; and his brother Deacon J. W. Gray. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 41 greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Unity Mortuary of Anderson (401 S Fant St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
