He was predeceased by: his father Walter Bruce Pierson. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Boren Pierson; his mother Dorothea Arbour Pierson of Abbeville; his siblings, Todd Pierson of Charleston, Donald Pierson of Charleston and Nanci Leigh Moore (Barry) of New Jersey; his siblings-in-law, Lee Dangerfield, Billy Joe Boren of Abbeville, Gwen Creel and Joann Dangerfield; and his parents-in-law, Joyce Dangerfield of Summerville and Billy Boren of Summerville.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be sent to Harris Funeral Home, PO Box 549, Abbeville, SC 29620 to be applied to Wally's funeral expenses.
